Java:

Powerful, cross-platform programming language developed by Sun Microsystems. Java applets (small applications) may be incorporated into Web documents and can be executed securely by any Java-capable browser irrespective of whether it is running on a PC, an Apple Mac or a Unix workstation. Both Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer are Java-capable. Java is being used in many ways which enhance the functionality and interactivity of Web pages.

Javascript or Java Script:

Scripting language (originally called LiveScript) developed by Netscape Communications for use with the Navigator browser. JavaScript code forms part of the HTML page and can be used for example to respond to user actions such as button clicks or to run processes locally or validate data. JScript is the Microsoft equivalent of Netscape's JavaScript for use with Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

Keyphrase or Key Phrase or Keyword Phrase:

A two- or more-word phrase (like Florida travel) prospects would type into a search query box to find products and services like yours.

Keyword:

A word or set of words (phrase) that consumers type into a search engine to find relevant web pages.

Keyword Density:

The number of times a keyword or phrase appears within a webpage divided by the total number of words on that page.

Keywords Tag:

The keywords tag is Meta data that appears if you right click your mouse and click "View Source" on any Web page. Although this tag is not supported in many engines (this is not true with some Trusted Feed campaigns), the keywords tag is a place to highlight your keyphrases and include misspellings. This data is written like a marketing statement and should clearly communicate the purpose of the page. Ideally, the description tag should be no more than 170 characters (with spaces).

Link:

A Link is a group of words, a picture or type of hotspot on a web page that when clicked takes you to another web page. Outbound links are used by search engines while crawling through sites. Inbound links are a reflection of your sites popularity and relevancy for search terms.

Link Building Campaign:

A Link Building Campaign is used to attract new links to your site by making requests to other sites.

Link Farm:

Link farm is a large group of web pages created that contain hyperlinks to one another or a specific other page. Link farms are normally created by programs, rather than by human beings.

Link Exchange:

Link Exchange (also known as Reciprocal Link Exchange) is the practice of exchanging links with other websites. The simplest way of doing it is to email another website owner and ask to do a link exchange. You place their link on your site, usually on a links page and the other site in return will place a link back to you.

Link Popularity:

The Link Popularity term is frequently used to describe the number of hypertext links coming into a website from other websites. But Link Popularity is defined by the quality and quantity of inbound and outbound links of your web page. By quality we mean the reputations of the websites that link to you, the titles of the pages that link back to you, the text used to link to your website and a few other factors. By quantity we simply mean the number of links on the internet which point to your website.
